About RRPCEM

Laboratory for Diagnosis of Bacterial and Viral Coinfections

Major areas of research:

  • The study of character of the pathological process at the sub-cellular level with the co-infection of the urogenital tract, using molecular genetic techniques, ultrastructural, nanoscopic analysis.
  • Improving of the methods of indication and identification of viruses and bacteria in renal, reproductive, osteo-articular pathology.
  • Identification of virulence factors, peculiarities of morphogenesis, molecular-genetic criteria, including sensitivity to chemotherapy drugs strains of C. trachomatis, T. vaginalis, M. genitalium et al., circulating in the Republic of Belarus.
  • Development of nanodiagnostics methods, the creation of a test system using a functionally-active nanoparticles, and highly sensitive sensor coatings for detecting of C. trachomatis persistent form infections.
  • Develop of criteria intravital laboratory diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's type dementia and prion infection.

Scientific projects:

1. Develop technology microbiological and molecular genetic diagnosis and treatment etiopathogenetic necrosis of the femoral head in the early stages of its development in young patients.

2. To identify predictors of the development of neurodegenerative process Alzheimer's disease in order to improve differential diagnosis and treatment.

3. Conduct molecular epidemiological monitoring of Chlamydia trachomatis genotypes, circulating on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, to study their virulence and resistance to antibiotics.
